WHO ARE WE?

Our story

My name is Léah Zahzah I am a third year student in Neoma Business School. I decided to do my internship in the association named Together We Support Development (ESDEV) based in Sud Saharan Africa in Togo.

ESDEV is an non-profit association active in the humanitarian, environment, education, sports supervision, animal care, culture and community. The main registered office is situated in Dunkerque and the other offices are situated in Lomé (Togo), Coton (Bénin) and Aflaou (Ghana).

The actual president of the association is Adabra Kossi Selom. He was born in Togo and lived in Dunkerque for it's studies, this is were he founded ESDEV with a group of friends in 2013 with the aims of helping the populations of its natal country. Today he is living in Montreal and he is the main coordinator of the missions of ESDEV internationally.

The organization is active in three countries in Africa: Togo, Benin and Ghana. They are active in different sector areas where the African face difficulty in their communities : socio-economic, educational, health and environmental issues. Their goal is to help the poor populations in their social and cultural development and well-being for a sustainable human development.

Some of their objectives:

Enable the populations to primary health care ;
Encourage maternal and child health ;
Fight against sexual diseases ;
Promote the education especially for young people ;
Defend and promote children's rights;
Reduce the adult literacy in urban and rural areas;
Support environmental protection, agriculture, livestock.

To achieve this objective, they organize every years severals missions in those different sectors of activities ; they organize humanitarian missions or internships during several months. Moreover, they are really active on social media (Facebook, Google, Instagram) to promote and mobilize future volunteers. With the aims to inform and sensitize the public opinion against the prejudice that people may have about Africa.
